A digital workflow for creating complete dentures: Introducing a new standard in modern removable prosthodontics
Dentistry has fully entered the digital era, and its adoption in one of the field’s oldest treatments demonstrates that this transformation is lasting. Computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) for complete dentures emerged after the successful application of CAD/CAM technology in implant and fixed prosthodontics. The use of CAD/CAM complete dentures has rapidly expanded in the dental industry, with an increasing number of commercially available CAD/CAM denture systems each year. The growing interest in CAD/CAM is also influenced by a decline in the number of dental laboratory technicians who possess extensive experience and skills in traditional fabrication methods. This presentation will address important topics regarding the current role of computer technology in the production of complete dentures.
